Jebel Ali Sewage Plant – Staff Accommodation - Dubai, UAE
Dubai Municipality is one of the largest governmental institutions in the UAE, considered as a leading growth and development institution in terms of performing smart projects and services.
- The Jebel Ali Sewage Treatment Plant, located in a desert area south of Jebel Ali, is the largest sewage treatment plant project.
What we did:
We retrofit the staff accommodation which previously was producing its domestic hot water (DHW) using 38 individual electrical water heaters, each one with 1.5kW in one accommodation building.
In this project, we centralized the hot water system with Eco XL 2000L and installed 12 thermodynamic panels on the rooftop, 70 degrees inclination in 2 levels. This installation provided up to 5000L of DHW per day with just 3.5 kW and reduced running costs by more than 93%, with a payback time of only 1 year.
Danat Al Emarat Hospital
Abu Dhabi, UAE
It is a hospital/maternity dedicated to women and children in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with 150 beds offering a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient medical services.
What we did:
We retrofit the hospital which previously was producing its domestic hot water (DHW) using a diesel boiler.
We installed 80 Thermodynamic solar panels, The location was on the facade using 0m2 ground space, this installation was with 2 Eco XL x 6000L systems, it provided up to 30,000L of DHW per day reduced running cost by 85% as well as maintenance costs. Its payback time is 2 years and 5 months
Radisson Blu Hotel, Deira Creek.
It is a 5-star hotel Radisson Blu near the beautiful Deira Creek area of Dubai. The hotel, the first 5 stars in the city, built-in 1975, is a classic fixture of Old Dubai, which has 288 rooms, suites and 10 restaurants.
What we did:
We retrofit the hotel which was producing its domestic hot water (DHW) using a diesel boiler.
We installed 80 thermodynamic solar panels, occupying only 20m2 by using a tailor-made structure and placing them in front of the existing cooling towers. That location allowed the thermodynamic solar system to create a symbiosis with the cooling system, which is unique in the world.
It allowed them to reduce 82% on the operation costs and 83% on carbon footprint. The payback period is of 2 years.
